snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I've fished Yellow Sally hatches out west but never recall them in Missouri waters. I swear I saw some this week. Are they native to Missouri streams?? Pete
Outside Bend Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Dunno what genus they are, but I've seen yellow stoneflies in a 14-16 occasionally on the Meramec. <{{{><
Gavin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Hit a small yellow stone hatch on Mill years ago...not sure if they were yellow sallies or not, but they were about a size 12-14... There's a wealth of information here if you want to brush up on your native benthic invertabrates. Missouri Watersheds
snagged in outlet 3 Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Thanks Gavin. They are not listed on the stream I was on, but I am sure that's what it was. I thought it was strange, but it was a huge hatch. They are distinguished by a set of double wings that you can see when they are flying. Pete
Gavin Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Who cares if they are listed....mark it on the calendar and head back next year!
