What line do you use for the majority of your bass fishing on LOZ, especially when using jigs or plastic baits?

I use P-Line CX Premium (Moss Green) in 8lb - 15lb when fishing at LOZ for bass. Here's somewhat of a breakdown...

- 8lb on spinning reel/rod for weightless Senkos, Shakeyheads, Flukes, small Jerkbaits

- 10lb-12lb on baitcasting reel/rod for light Texas Rigs and Jigs, Crankbaits, Topwaters,. Jerkbaits

- 15 lb on baitcasting reel/rod for heavier Texas Rigs and Jigs, Buzzbaits, Spinnerbaits

Those are my general rules. I'm dying to get back down to the lake, but probably won't until Thanksgiving!

With the limited water clarity there I have always used Trilene XL or XT in 10-12 1bs. P-Line CX Premium is excellent stuff though and all my ultra-light outfits have that spooled.

I use Seaguar red lable 100% florocarbon for all my jigs and worm fishing. 15 lb test. I will go up to twenty if the fish are behind the docks, or in thick cover up the river. I like the floro for the no stretch, and abrasion resistence. With no stretch you can get a good hook set and get them away from cover, or over dock cables in a hurry.

Suffix - 8 to 17 lb depending on setup. Have some deep cranking 10 and 12 lb on some rods. 14 or 17 Elite on jigs and spinner bait rods. Tried some P-line and keep getting break offs at the knot and some breaks in the spool. Out it went. I may try some Trilene XL next because I bought a used 6-6 G-Lomis with a CU-100 Shimano Curado on it that is supper smooth - think it is Trilene. It is outcasting some of my 7' rods but I mostly flip or pitch with them. Got the setup for $75 at a moving sale - what a deal.

I am switching all my line over to copoly. After years of using fluorocarbon (with good results) I just don't think the benefits (especially on LOZ) outweigh the added cost. I have done very well with lines such as PLine CXX Xtra strong, FluoroClear, and Vicious Ultimate which are all alot cheaper for the pocketbook.

I have also switched all my spinning rigs over to braid with a leader. Love it so far.
