Members Betty and Patrick Posted November 5, 2011 Members Posted November 5, 2011 We are very excited about our november camping trip. What are tbe fish biting on? Are the fish in pre spawn mode? I need rainbows on my 6 pound line, camp coffee and white bean soup with corn bread. Cannot wait to get out of this city and decompress. See ya'll soon.
Brian Sloss Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 They will bite on the usual stuff, plus I'd bring some egg patterns as they may be spawning by then. We need rain bad, the river is real low. Bring hunter orange, you are coming down opening weekend of deer season. Be prepared to share the woods. Have a great time like you always do. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

Thanks Brian, do you think there will be a lot of campers? We may have to make some adjustments if there are. Lots of Orange!
Gavin Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Bring Some Blaze Orange Definetly...every roadside pullout will have a deer camp in it...plenty of them at Greer too...Last time...was about 6 years ago with the Coldwater crew..Some jackwagon had a loud generator on all night......Glad we got out of Greer for a lazy couple days of camping on the the river....Float & Camp...you will be safer...but dont camp near first island (graveyard hollow)...some folks use it as a target range. Have fun.
Brian Sloss Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I imagine there will be others camping at Turner, Greer and Whitten and like Gavin said, there will be campers along the road here and there just off the roadside on the way down to Turner. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497

Flysmallie Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 So when's deer season end? Look it up smarty pants.
FishinCricket Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 Look it up smarty pants. Why would I do that when I can just ask these folks, Slim? cricket.c21.com
laker67 Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 So when's deer season end? I can understand "why" you do not know. In your neck of the woods, it ends when the last freezer is full.

Touché, sir! lol Nah, I don't deer hunt (no option for catch and release) so all I ever remember is that the boss and his buddies go into full rut around November.. cricket.c21.com
