timsfly Posted November 8, 2011 Author Posted November 8, 2011 it sounds like by reading the part of the link below where it talks about catch and release that zone 3 is open to it from "the old dam to the bridge" just not open to "bait fishing". I put the link to the roaring river info sheet below. Any clarification on this Tim? "the area open to winter fishing is from the hatchery to the bridge below the old dam in the lower campground" http://mdc4.mdc.mo.gov/Documents/12616.pdf Zone 3 starts at the bridge below the old dam, all water below that bridge to the boundaries of the park are closed nov 1- thru the end of febuary and reopens on march 1st 2012 Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
txspecks04 Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 Tim, how does the water look after the recent rains?
Steve Smith Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I checked the river gauge and it said a rise of 1.30 feet. Water was over the low water bridge at the hatchery end and really dumping out of Dry Hollow last night. It will most likely be still high Friday as TRD shut generators off this morning so it should back up from the 86 bridge. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO

Steve I don't think it will back up from the 86 bridge enough to effect the park water is dropping should be good for Friday. Buzz Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 My 2 biggest today. Big streamers did the trick. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
