Guest TLewis74 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 And that's how you feel about stem cell research, too, RIGHT? Propaganda? No. Painful reality. I did not mean Right vs. Left, I just meant that you "Left" out a big part of the equation. Wow, sensitive are we, lol. But since we are now on a left/right trajectory, I promise you, especially with the Libertarian wing of the Conservitive movement on the rise, that there are plenty of folks on the right that support Stem-cell research, so I'll let you and your little Billy Goat to ponder that for the day.
Guest TLewis74 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I'll continue to call the ones idiots who seek to stop fishing and hunting for no other reason than that they think it's cruel, who lobby to protect invasive wild horses and burros and don't care what kind of damage those animals are doing to the native critters and the ecosystem, who scream bloody murder whenever somebody suggests that it might be a good idea to kill some deer in suburban areas where they are overpopulated, who believe that nobody should eat wild meat... And even idiots aren't wrong all the time. They may be right when it comes to certain kinds of animal experimentation. But if they also believe the other stuff I listed...they're still idiots. Glad this Cass Sunstein guy has no influence. Ohh wait a minute he does. He is Obama's Regulatory Czar, and this is some more CHANGE you can beleive in. “[A]nimals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives, to prevent violations of current law … Any animals that are entitled to bring suit would be represented by (human) counsel, who would owe guardian like obligations and make decisions, subject to those obligations, on their clients’ behalf.” It doesn't end there. Sunstein delivered a keynote speech at Harvard University’s 2007 “Facing Animals” conference. (Click here to watch the video; his speech starts around 39:00.) Keep in mind that as OIRA Administrator, Sunstein will have the political authority to implement a massive federal government overhaul. Consider this tidbit: “We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn’t a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It’s time now.” Sunstein also argued in favor of “eliminating current practices such as greyhound racing, cosmetic testing, and meat eating, most controversially.” He concluded his Harvard speech by expressing his “more ambitious animating concern” that the current treatment of livestock and other animals should be considered “a form of unconscionable barbarity not the same as, but in many ways morally akin to, slavery and mass extermination of human beings.” Sound familiar? As the individual about to assume “the most important position that Americans know nothing about,” Sunstein owes the public an honest appraisal of his animal rights goals before taking office. Will the next four years be a dream-come-true for anti-meat, anti-hunting, and anti-everything-else radicals? Time will tell. For now, meat lovers might want to stock their freezers.
Justin Spencer Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 For now, meat lovers might want to stock their freezers. darn left wing conspiracy theorists. Do you work for Fox News? Okay, sure. You're pretty new, so I should tell you Phil hates political debates on this forum. I regret participating in this one, and I'm bowing out (un)gracefully before it gets worse. But one side-note...check out the "multiquote" function at the bottom right of your screen. And Al, I know you're reasonable enough to recognize that all animal rights advocates shouldn't be lumped together...it just bothers me when they (ostensibly) are. There are some appalling animal abuses that are commonplace, and I think those who work to stop it should be supported and not consolidated with the "idiots."
Tim Smith Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Boy this thread took some weird turns. It's hard to see where the original topic went. It would be nice if now and then we could just get cured of politics. http://www.juliansanchez.com/2009/04/30/lying-about-cass-sunstein/ The owners of the Mom and Pop hotel I visted recently on the Big Thompson hardly look like plutocrats. They're more or less nice people and part of a multi billion dollar outdoor industry in Colorado that puts some muscle behind conservation in this state. They also restrict shoreline access to their property (and the fish that our tax dollars put there), as allowed by western water law. As a result, their fishing is better and they can attract more guests. When I was a guest there, it was great to have some water to myself. Now that I'm not, it kinda sucks that I'm not welcome. It's not easy to balance the interests of businesses and individuals in a resource limited world.

Oh, puh-leeeeeaaaze... Your agenda is quite obvious. Might I suggest you go find a political forum upon which to wax philosophic? This here forum is about feeshin... cricket.c21.com

This here forum is about feeshin... What agenda is that? Just because I posted something topically in connection with one of the themes of the thread which was influential people and "extreme" points of view as it pertains to "Animal Rights," and happend to bring one into focus who just happens to occupy a important position within the current Presidential administration, is no reason to lose objectivity. I would say the same thing if it were in the previous administration or any other one no matter what the party or philosophy. The only thing I care about is the truth and consistancy and I guess we know where everyone stands now. By the way; your grammar is a tragedy. Not saying that I'm perfect but dam. Enough said!

Guest TLewis74 Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 darn left wing conspiracy theorists. Do you work for Fox News? Yeah, Rodger Ailes and I have a substation here in Northern Maries Co. What the hell kind of Question is that and how is it relevant? If that is the dudes position, it does not matter what your political views are, and Cass Sunsteins views are radical. In addition, if it offends you that I pointed it out, seems like you got a problem with the meesenger and not the message, as you should. And if I knew that someone of that philosophy was that close to the top of the power structure in this country, I would be worried if I owned a business like you own. But I don't and it is not worth my time to proceed any further with this conversation. But before I go, since were on the topic of cable news, earlier in the thread you said something about balls and I can't help but wonder if you are a fan of them. If you are, (as I suspect) you might want to check out MSNBC, it seems like they are fond of you and your kind. Guess this means the shuttle is out of question now. Gosh, where am I ever going to find another outfitter on the North Fork of White River?
