Feathers and Fins Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Dad says they are in the back yard. Literally when he says back yard he means open the door and there they are. Stupid birds as well. My wife and I have a Basketball game with them each year. I park my big red truck on the levee and we try and knock them into the bed of it. Its amazing how stupid they are when they get no pressure. I was sitting in a lawn chair on dads roof last year pass shooting them. Now if they were only that stupid up here. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
duckydoty Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Yep. That is about the only way I could get into basketball. Sounds like a fun way to pass the day. I just need them to fly about a 1000 ft lower and I could pass shoot them all day at my house. I've only had them land close on Table Rock Lake twice but not close enough to get some shots off. Scouted every cove nook and cranny on Table Rock today from Coney Island all the way past the Show boat, Branson Bell hoping to see some of the snows on the water. Notta! Just found one small group of Canada geese. Got a report of some migrating mallards in that area a couple of days ago. Estimated number around 1500 to 2000. They have moved on. Table Rock can be hit or miss. When birds are migrating it can be hot, hot, hot. Otherwise it is pretty slow hunting. A couple of golden eye here and there and a mallard once in a while. That is why I mainly hunt Lower Taney. More ducks holding down there and this year I have been exploring Upper Bull Shoals. There are some good looking spots down there that have been holding ducks this week. Come on Turkey Day (opening day here)! A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Feathers and Fins Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 I hear that about Beaver all the time that it is hit or miss. Yet its one of the best lakes I have ever hunted and very diverse in species. I think the problem most guys have with Big lakes is they have no clue how to set up on it. Deep water means most spreads are very near shore. I solved the problem by running Long Lines Now my spread goes from shore to 35 yards out with no problem and setting out a big spread looks like a raft on big water. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
duckydoty Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I'll have to try long lining them this year. Taney has been a fantastic body of water for me to hunt. I like Table Rock because it is only 1/2 mile to the boat launch. I usually get limits 5 or 6 times a year on Table Rock. Most other days are 1 to 3 bird days. I pulled limits off Taney 13 days last year so as you can see both of them have thier own draw. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Feathers and Fins Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 My problem with Taney is I get trout blinders on and would be cutting the hunt short, same problem with beaver only stripers but i usually limit on ducks by 9am so it doesnt hurt. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
