snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 On the 27th the generation was off but the O2 levels didn't drop like previously. I know it's early....Phil??? SIO3
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 30, 2011 Root Admin Posted November 30, 2011 Not early at all but not sure it's been cold enough. Temperature is dropping too. I'd say by the chart it's in the process. I'd say it should this week or next. I'll ask the hatchery what reading they're getting.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted November 30, 2011 Root Admin Posted November 30, 2011 Clint at Shepherd Hatchery confirms there's movement in both water temp and DO levels at their intake. The lake is in the process of turning. Another fall season officially comes to an end and a new winter season is starting!!
Members D.T. Posted November 30, 2011 Members Posted November 30, 2011 In the past I believe there was discussion of shad kill when the lake turns over. Am I getting things confused, if not then why does the turn over cause a shad kill? Why not other fish? and obviously a large population of shad survive so how is that possible? This may have been addressed in the past but I don't remember reading about it. Thanks guys in advance for the biology lesson. Dave
