wc1063 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I'd finally caught my first striper yesterday at Beaver. This old lady hit a freeline 5 inch shad at PC. She is right at 36 inches long and weight about 18 lbs. Want to thank F & F for his tutelage and know how on striper fishing, it would be impossible without his help!!
Feathers and Fins Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Congrats, I am very happy you got her finally I know how hard you have worked at it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members ksbass Posted December 3, 2011 Members Posted December 3, 2011 Sweet! Nice one to start with. Was this early or at sunset? Check out our line of furled leaders at Dad and Em's Fishing Products!
Stump bumper Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Nice one, just don't put up the boat when they start moving back up I hope you can get on one of those days when they are shallow and hitting jerkbaits in 3-6ft of water. It's been a while since I've heard drag sing like that, now I am jealous. I went down to Hickocy creek because I heard they were down there and fished up around the water intake with gudies and boats everywhere and only saw two boated all day and I only hit two whites all day. The shad were so thick I don't think you could throw a net with getting a bucket full but very few fish.
wc1063 Posted December 3, 2011 Author Posted December 3, 2011 This was at 4:00 PM. I fished til after sunset and left around 6:30 PM but didn't get a bite.
DaddyO Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 This is a great example of what I love about this forum. We have lots of guys on here, like F&F, that share their knowledge which helps other people experience something that they might not otherwise been able to do. Thank you Phil for hosting this forum. Thank you to all of you that participate. DaddyO We all make decisions; but, in the end, our decisions make us.
