stlfisher Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Alabama played 2 teams in the top 25, OSU Played 6. OSU is the better team hands down. They are the clear cut # 2. But the BCS is a scam, always has been, always will be. It is certainly debatable, but hands down for either team? Hardly. As I said I think OSU deserves to play in the title game since Alabama already lost to LSU. I would have liked to see the offense and defense battle. There is no way to measure how Alabama or Oklahoma State would have done if they played the same schedule. The best and most deserving are not always the same. And that is a huge problem with the BCS and it was exposed this year. It would have helped Oklahoma State's case tremendously if Texas (who never should have been ranked) and OU (missing many of it top players to injury) had better years. Bottom line is the loss to Iowa State was much worse than the loss to LSU. A plus one would have been ideal because it could have been settled on the field.
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 The computer is cold and just looks at the record of the opponents and it has OSU second. Alabama had their chance and if they beat LSU this time who is better? I don't think one out of two means much. KCrat, if Boise didn't play a soft conference they might gey more attention, but when you don't have to worry about injuries and the like it's easier to win. If they had run over TCU like they generally do they wouldn't have needed a field goal. If if if. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I was just kinda' making a case for Boise based on what they did to Oklahoma back in the Fiesta. But they blew it against TCU which I imagine gave the powers that be a sigh of relief. And... Okie St. blew it against Iowa St. and 'Bama blew it against LSU. Houston actually could have been in the argument too, but they blew it against Southern Miss. Like was said in a previous post... it's about money. Feathers and Fins Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Like i said before BCS minus C = What it is. Only a Playoff system can answer the questions. not even a Plus one will give you a true NC. That is why all other sports have the playoff system. In the pro's a team can and has lost to another only to beat them in the playoff's. What i will really enjoy is if Bama beats LSU in the NC game, that should stir the hornets nest even more. Ill go on to say I even dislike the rules that disqualify a team from bowl potential like violations for recruiting OR such. I dont like seeing the Players penalized for what a school or even a few players did. I wish they would Fine the school or suspend th players immidiately but give the team who worked hard all year the oppertunity to play. I guess its just me but if a team works their butts off and has a winning record they should not be penalized for the actions of the School or coaches or a couple players. Just me but it just dont seem right somehow. heh off topic sorry https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 6, 2011 Author Posted December 6, 2011 To me just seems to be nothing short of ridiculas to have two teams from the same conference division who have already met to play for anything outside their conference. LSU beat Bama, but can they beat a conference champion from another conference? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Feathers and Fins Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 This year... And im an AR fan and hate LSU lol but i dont think anyone could beat LSU. Maybe one of the NFL teams. Dam that hurts admitting that but they are just on fire this year. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Destroyed UCLA, but the Bruins got to play Oregon because of the sanctions levied against SC. And SC beat Oregon in Eugene. Wrong team is in the Rose Bowl... and it ain't the current players or coaches fault. (see... Reggie Bush). HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Feathers and Fins Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 lol ya i know about Reggie. Man it just chaps me, I love college football and wish it had simple rules and all teams had the ability to go to a bowl or if we did get a playoff ever a right to be there... Under the Bowl World 1 through 10 NO MATTER who they are should go or why have bowls. Under Playoffs then 1 Bowl and its for all the Marbles. I would love to see a NFL style playoff where the matchings could put any conferance against any other one. It would be nice to see say Alabama Play USC and if USC won the could play Notre D and so on. ok i need to stop dreaming of Saturdays where teams who would never meet might. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Justin Spencer Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I'm headed back to Pittsburg, Ks again this Saturday for the National Semifinal of Division II football where they have a playoff. Third week in a row with a home playoff game for the Gorillas. It really rewards good teams with home games culminating in a championship game in Florence Alabama every year. This is great football (much more fun than LSU and Alabama's first game) and it is played for the right reasons with less corruption than FBS. Go Gorillas!! As for FBS, like someone else said a +1 would solve many problems. Do all the BCS bowls more or less the same with #1 playing #4, #2 playing #3, and then a week later have a championship game. Time table would be the same, and only one extra game for the teams. With this system we would see who is better between bama and OSU, who would then probably get to play LSU resulting in a true champion. Teams would still be left out, but it would be much better. exiledguide Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I think the BCS is bogus it was thought up by the SEC and rigged in their favor. I would prefer going back to how it was before the BCS. I really never cared who won the national championship I just enjoy sports. I don't need a playoff to determine a champion. Other than baseball, who cares?
