Guest Buck Creek Mike Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 As I was writing my inital post it did occur to me that the white bass population and shad populations could be inversely proprtional. It makes sense as stated in the article that if you have tons of shad it might be because there are not as many whites and vice versa, and it could be a lagging indicator that takes a while to catch up with the reproduction from a few year earlier. So maybe in a year or two there will be tons of whites caught again because of all of the shad that are there now, and not as many shad visible at that future time when the whites are going good.
Sore Thumbs Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Maybe the abundance of forage is what is making fishing tougher for all species this year? Food for thought.
