Feathers and Fins
My brother and I went out to Beaver this morning and set up on a little island we like to hunt. On the way out to the island we kept saying we really should go to another spot. Had a couple shots in the AM then when we were ready to leave we said lets go look where we thought about going. Its always so nice to pull into your guts spot to find several rafts of well over 2000 birds to each one of them there... GO WITH YOU GUT DUMMY is all we kept saying... We kicked them up and just sat there saying words a drunken sailor would be ashamed of... LOL. It happens Looks like we finally had some nice pushes though https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
duckydoty
Been doing good on Table Rock for about 5 days now. Lots of rafters, the golden eye showed up in force, the mallards are willing to work, and of course, the gadwall are filling in the slow spots. Picked up a scaup, two golden eye, two gadwalls, and a mallard today. Had several other unbelievable misses today and quite a few moments of me just sitting there watching them land in the decoys but not shooting. Can't wait to get out there again in the morning. BilletHead
Good to hear you guys are into birds. As I am out and about still seeing big flocks flying south. Still froze up here except for the roost ponds. I will not disturb them and loose what I have. Waiting for a thaw or geese starting to hit fields. I know the colder it is on smaller waters the better it gts for you all though. duckydoty
Had the "should a gone with the gut" issue today. Wanted to hunt a small cove on the north side of the lake, but had a buddy that wanted to hunt the point I hunted yesterday and did well at. Not many birds on the point this morning, but checked the cove on the way out and Wow! Must have been 300 mallards tucked back in there. Guess where I'm hunting in the morning?
