If you happen to need a fly reel.. let me know, as I have built up more than I can handle.

I have over 80 reels now and I would like to start getting back down to a manageable level.

If you are in the market for a fly reel, you might check with me first.

Wow.. I might have bitten off more than I can chew here.

But wait - let me check my stock.......

I did just sell an Abel .5 - but it wasn't mine and I think it sold for too much money.

I have a Tibor Spring Creek CL, but its more like a 4wt. Picture :

Picky aren't I? I would actually budge on the weight and age but I am set on USA made and I want something more than a click and pawl, if you might have anything close to my original request.

I like the Spring Creeks, but based on the MSRP of a new one I doubt it's going to be in the price range of the other reels I have been shopping. With the being said feel free to let me know the condition and an asking price. You can pm me if you prefer.

I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted.

Trout Commander - would you consider a vintage Pflueger Medalist ? -- I wouldn't own 13 vintage if they weren't legit.

(only the ones made in Akron,O are worthy of my opinion by the way, with 6 rivets)

This is a 1494, a good 5wt version from around the late 50's : sorry a few shots :

Any way to change your mind to try vintage instead of modern ?

Which model you looking at ? For bass or for bigger fish ?

An 8wt gives you lots of options John... will it be your go to reel on a daily basis ? or seldom used ... ?

Not this time Brian. I myself own an old Gem, and old Medalist and just bought my son a new Medalist to go on his first fly rod. The Scott A3 that I was looking for the reel for is a little too "blingy" for a vintage reel. I did just win an eBay auction for a Ross CLA though. :)

I have a few glass rods on my radar and if I can procure any of them I will hit you up about vintage reels.

I still have two in my garage waiting for ya. We need to make the swap soon or just wait for the trip.

Stop encouraging him...he doesn't need any more rods OR reels. He'll end up breaking or losing them anyway.
