Gavin, the JW Young reel was made between 1925 and 1939. It is a Pattern #5 Trout sized Salmon reel according to my JW Young and Sons book by Rupe Atwood. It measures just a hair under 3 1/2, probably 3 7/16ths. It has a smooth brass 2 screw foot and was the 1st Young reel with the "take apart" center spool assembly. It has a neat braided nylon non silk line on it that is brand new. A complete original package.

Here is a shot of the backside:

Here is the backside shot of the LRH Lightweight (which is 3 3/16) the CFO IV, and the dual check 1950's reel, The Lightweight.

The LRH was cleaned and treated with Boeshield when I got it and has a brand new unfished DT4 Orvis line on it.

gotmuddy - I have a ton of 4-5-6 wt weight reels... maybe if you shoot me a PM we can go over some more particulars.

Dano - in the photo's with the 3 Hardy made reels.. the LRH Lightweight is on far left in both photos. The spool is ported and it is carrying a brand new unfished DT4F Orvis line. The reel marked "The Lightweight" is on the far right - but it sold. (thanks)

To me, its all about spending a good dollar for a reel that will give you good service no matter what, forever.

Otherwise it is disposable... and none of my reels would ever fit that description.

You just gotta do your homework. Brian

For $26 bucks you cant beat it! It holds 10 reels. I have 5 and none of the zippers have failed me yet.

Plenty of reels left.. if you like Pflueger Medalists.. or AbuGarcia flyreels.. or maybe Ryobi reels.. just none of the latest mumbo jumbo. I have some great knock off Japanese Hardy models from the '70's and '80's.. and a few Tibor/Pate's and old 1980 Fenwicks and some early Abels too. Once again - a big thank you all of you have bought a reel (or two) from me thus far. Hopefully someone else out there wants to fish a classic.

No more bumping this post from me. Brian

Thanks Phil for providing such a great place for us to trade/sell/buy from!
