Nighthawk Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 took the boat with the new motor (one of Phil's old ones) to fish the high water today. the fish were ALL OVER a thick cerise san juan worm. fishing buddy and i caught over 30. most were really small with one 18"er. motor performed great, jumped my 16' v-bottom right up on plane. a man with a boat fears no high water!

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted December 19, 2011 Root Admin Posted December 19, 2011 I love my jet! It's always fun buzzing across the flat at Short Creek and watching everybody wave at you to slow down LOL. They won't yell anymore... the bar is gone.
Gatorjet Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 They won't yell anymore... the bar is gone. Even Buster's Stump is gone. Gonna miss getting airborne bouncing off of that thing! From what I saw when I was there a couple weeks ago, with the generators off, the whole upper end looks to be a couple feet deeper now. I didn't go above Lookout Island though. Real men go propless!
Nighthawk Posted December 19, 2011 Author Posted December 19, 2011 Ducky, just a few green heads around KOA.

Is it easier to run up river with the water off than before? I never made it above Lookout when the water was off due to there always being wade fisherman in the middle of the river. Just curious if it's too deep for them to stand there now with the water off.
