BilletHead
Thank you for the blessed rain here. Our ponds and lakes have been so dry here. I got a couple of inches here at home. Quite a bit North and West of here. ...THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS IN MISSOURI... LITTLE OSAGE NEAR HORTON AFFECTING VERNON COUNTY MARMATON RIVER NEAR NEVADA AFFECTING VERNON COUNTY .HEAVY RAINFALL WHICH OCCURRED OVER THE LITTLE OSAGE AND MARMATON RIVER BASINS YESTERDAY HAS CAUSED RIVER LEVELS TO RISE. Good news for four rivers. These two rivers come together in that area. I am sure the Bates county drainage ditch will be pretty full also. I did some recon on places I hunt and the water on the ponds that drain large areas were full and up in the grass. A few ducks and a big load of geese were tails up feeding and very happy. Pretty muddy for tha cattle farmers but the crop boys will be happy as the irragation lakes fill. jdmidwest
We have had too much of the blessed rain on this side of the state. It has came with southerly winds that have forced the birds down the west side of the state this year. Too much sheet water and backwater, what birds that are here are scattered. Getting ready for the final run here, hunting Thurs and Monday, then all weekend of New Years. Seriously considering coming west again and shooting some of your birds. BilletHead
Come on over and harass them. I really think this will help the pond hunting. Bird Watcher
Marty, I'm about to be free to hunt for about 11 days straight. Thank goodness for Christmas shutdown here at the the ol salt mine. What rig do you run around in up there? Maybe I'll run into you somewhere and we chat it up and lament the lack of birds for awhie. I'll be in a dark green ford with a dark blue trailer when I'm hunting or a red ford ranger when i'm scouting.

bigredbirdfan
I built a new blind this year at my lease and I was worried we wouldn't even get to hunt out of it as the water was about 8 feet too low which left the shore line about fifty yards from the blind. It has slowly risen to witin 15 yards of the blind until this last rain. I am excited to see how much the water came up with approx 2 inches of rain the last couple of days. Now a good cold shove the next couple of days could mean limits of greenheads.

I did see a guy who posted on follow the ducks on the DU website from Rich Hill who has been doing well. I stay here close to home and don't talk to anyone but you fellows. Feathers and Fins
Marty I actually like pools 19 and 20 at 4rivers... I just hate the walk lol... I need to run up to flight and see if it got water if it did it should be sick with ducks... With 10 days off im just going to enjoy chasing birds even if i dont get any... This year has been crazy with work and now i hope to get in more than a few hours at beaver. Dont get me wrong beaver is great at times but i miss running all the prairies in Mo and on occassion stopping off to see the Bison. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
