mic Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 I made the trip down to Mill Creek. This time I focused more on productive holes versus exploring. I had a good day in the rain. I brought ten or so to hand with one nice one and this brute. The funny thing is I caught this guy twice. Once, right after I started and then three hours later on my last cast of the day. I know it was the same one because of a sore he had in his mouth. This is my largest Ozark wild trout by a long shot. Finished up with chicken strips and a chocolate pie from Made From Scratch. Overall a good day after X-mas.

Buzz Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Nice!!!!!!! If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
mic Posted December 27, 2011 Author Posted December 27, 2011 That's a fat Mill Creek wild bow! Congrats Mic! Was the creek up and pumping? I'm no expert, but I think it was at normal flow.
Smalliebigs Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 Mike, What a sweet Mill Creek bow and sounds like she was quite hungry. You also made me hungry with the chicken strips and chocholate pie talk...sounds tasty after walking the creek:have-a-nice-day: I hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas
mic Posted December 27, 2011 Author Posted December 27, 2011 Mike, I hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas We did, and back at ya.
Sharps4590 Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 As with the Little Piney I fish Mill quite a bit also, for the same reason, it's less than 1/2 hour from home. That is a good Mill Creek 'bow. There are quite a few in there but I don't get many of them. In that skinny water they don't attain such size by being dumb. Mill ran pretty good flows all summer thanks to some August thunderstorms, one of which I was over there fishing in...whew...had some really close lightning strikes that day!!!!! Of late, now February, it should be pretty good due to recent rains and the 4-6 inches of snow we had earlier this week. Mill is one of the jewels of the Ozarks. I'd rather live my entire life, living as if there is a God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there isn't, than to live my entire life as if there is no God and Jesus and to find out at the end that there is.
