Thanks, I thought it was a striper, but wasn't sure because it had such a deep body and a little bit of break in the lines.

Got to love the Alabama Rig!

Last I heard about the stocking of stripers was that enough letters were sent in to not stock stripers. However, was told that the AGFC would compare lakes with stripers to Bull Shoals and see if the bass fishing is being affected or not. They will do this for 3 years and make another decison on stocking Bull Shoals then. For right now they will not be stocking stripers.

i've got 2 deep 12x20" boxes full of 6,8,10" swimbaits and several large jerkbaits and Red fins, and muskie inline spinners (white and black) ready to get into some stripers. My rig is a med-heavy action InterCoastal series Uglystick with a Calcutta 300 series reel with 250+yds of 30lbs. power pro braid with a 30lbs mono leader... just waiting for the bite.

Richy if you are wanting to target stripers, I would suggest Two specific lakes Beaver Lake and Lake Ouachita. Both are known for producing lots of stripers and would give you a far better chance to tie into one than Bull will. Beavers stripers are still on the chew and still in Prairie Creek. I just got back last night from doing storm damage assessment in Kansas and snuck out today for a little bit and managed to pop 2 decent high teen stripers from shore. My bait of choice today was a 6'' White Bucktail 2oz with a plastic shad tail in pearl. Saturday looks to be a decent day to try for them looks like a 30% chance of pm rain so the day should be overcast and one I would put on at a 8 out of 10 for getting one. If you have a boat follow the bird they will be marking the active fish.
