Guest Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Mine would be catching this brown on a Cicada fly I tied after consulting with Craig at Hargroves. It was one of those days in which it was miserabably hot and lot's of people out on the stream. Tried for a homerun shot and fished an area that doesn't seem much traffic...ended up with my largest brown to date. I am so bummed I didn't get to make it over there for the cicada hatch.
Flysmallie Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I've got a lot of good fishing buddies. Many great memories from the year. This one is the best. Â Â
Trout Commander Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I've got a lot of good fishing buddies. Many great memories from the year. This one is the best. I have to agree with you on this one Ronnie. Of all of the fishing in all of the places with all of the people and all of the fish I caught and all of the fun I had this year, this is tops: Preston's first wild trout I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack
stlfisher Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 I am so bummed I didn't get to make it over there for the cicada hatch. Sorry to hear that man, but looks like you had some great trips and some excellent smallies. I was barely able to sneak the trip in on the tail end got a bit lucky as far as timing. Another weekend later and I think I would have missed too.
Gavin Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 2011 was a great year...started off with a 23" brown trout on the January winter float trip and just got better..Did lots of fishing with the girls at Montauk & on the Current, some in N. Illinois, floated 25 miles on the Gasconade with Al, PD, Jeremy and got to meet Mitch & Cricket, 11pt with Grandma Ruth, and a trip to the NFoW with the guys from Hargroves to round it out....2012 is looking good too.
Flysmallie Posted January 23, 2012 Posted January 23, 2012 Little wiffle ball on the garvel bar. I like that. Â Â
