Trout Commander Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I've had a lot of battles to fight in the last couple of years and the few trips I made with my son and the MFU guys are near and dear to this old heart. The honor is ours, Pops. This photo I took of you fighting that trout in 101 temps on the Niangua, I nominate that as my favorite memory of 2011. (followed closely by my trip with you and TC down to the NFOW, then the Lil Niangua trip where I caught that monster buffalo on the UL) That is a great photo. On fiberglass too iirc? I will never forget that trip on the NFOW. Ever. And I still owe you guys a trip when I am better on the oars. If I can get a couple of dummies local boys here in Springfield to run down there with me a time or two for me to practice while they catch some fish we will be good to go come spring time. The days, really unfortunately just short trips, spent bluelining with the Hippie were also high on my list of memories this year. Here are a couple days represented with pictures. One similar to the photo of yours: Hookset! The last day of 2011 we picked up 5 of these on 5 consecutive casts: The creek which shan't be named. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. The latest Trout Commander blog post: Niangua River Six Pack

Wayne SW/MO Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I'm game TC, when it's warmer. I survived your other go at the sticks and I know you're better now. I ain't skeerd. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I don't have that amount of time or fiberglass to keep fixing those holes. crappiefisherman Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 my best trip of the century, was taking my 79 year old heart bypass and valve replaced recovering Father to Table rock to spoon for kentuckies. We couldnt catch a fish, it was cold and windy, but he wanted to stay.I suggested a windless cove with trees to try for crappie. They were there. He caught a few and fought them like lunker bass.Even the vienna sausages tasted great [ [
