rainbow Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 We got some kind of special rate from UMR when we stayed there. I tried the number on the site but it must have been changed. Call directory assistance and give them a call. I guess the steakhouse is still open. I don't think I have ever had a better strip steak anywhere. If you are going to Montauk you can always stay in the park when it's open and eat at the lodge or get a cabin at Reeds and cook in. We have done all of them.

rainbow Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I thought it was still open when I when went to Lilley's in August.
stlfisher Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I hope to fish all the wild creek areas (Spring, Piney, and Mill) and maybe a trip to Montauk. Looking for something clean and cheap in the middle of it all. If I was going to fish the wild creeks I would stay closer to Rolla. If I was gonna mostly fish Montuak I would stay at the Country Inn (50 a night) in Licking at the corner of 63...you can't miss it...and it is probably 15 min from Montauk and 30 minutes from the Little Piney. Mill and Spring would be a bit farther. I bet if you fish the Current and Montauk you will be a very happy camper. You can stay at Montauk too. The rooms are $75 a night. Either way have a great time...I need to get out soon.
ness Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 I typically stay at the Drury in in Rolla at 63(?) and I-44. They're a little high, but I make it back by gorging on their continental breakfast. Be sure to hit Cookin from Scratch down at Doolittle. Excellent fried chicken and other homestyle stuff. John

Midwest troutbum Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Comfort Suites in Rolla (exit 186) can't be beat for a great rate, clean rooms, and a continental breakfast. The hotel is relatively new as well. Within sight of Hwy 44, and a short drive to Hwy 63. All the small streams & creeks you mention are not to far as well. Many places to eat in Rolla.
