fishinwrench Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I was born/raised on the Salt watershed, Elk and Middle fork are excellent fishing rivers. Smallies? Yep, plentiful, fat and healthy.....but they aren't just everywhere. Float through the mudbank areas and fish the scattered rocky spots, you'll find bronze. The water color during late Spring is perfect for bass buggin'...and yeah I know the wading is a bit creepy at first, but you get used to it after a season or two. The cool thing about those lazy rivers, and what I miss the most about them is that its as easy to navigate upstream as it is downstream, making same-site floats a breeze. I really need to get back up there for awhile to revisit my old stomping grounds.
