I am glad they are trying to help. Periodic agent patrol would help a little on the illegal taking of fish during C&R.

I agree the poaching is bad, but with only one agent in the county what do you expect? I have called a couple of times for people poaching, but the agent never made it there in time to catch them. If more people got involved in protecting it then it would make a difference just like anywhere else in the state. The local police dept. does not have jurisdiction over the stream so therefore they do not worry about the poaching. That and the fact their budget was slashed when the city discovered it was broke.

I think saying the city is broke is generous. The way I understand it the city has been grossly mismanaged and it's finances are in shambles....

I fish there quite a bit during the spring but when it gets hot, its a favorite swimming hole. I'm learning during the catch and release period to fish flys and such.

Capps creek, Hickory creek, sounds like one in the same......everyone sits their butt on the edge of seats waiting for the hatchery truck, only to go in masses, sometimes illegally and depletes the resource, what the ***** is wrong with people. Once again ignorance and so called inherited beliefs....the state has to become a helluva lot more proactive and enact, and then enforce a few darn laws and rules to not only provide a resource but to maintain it. Does no one see that these two places if would become wonderful fisheries if somehow the darn chain of ignorance could be broken. I have an idea go to the Hyvee if you want some fish, less time, and a helluva lot less effort. And they could even buy it with their food stamps.

I can assure you if the schedule will allow it, I'll be there. There are some of us that do prefer to back up our words with action, not just a lot of hot air.

Good! We would be glad to see you there Pruett417 if you can make it. Sad thing is we will be lucky if 15-20 people show up and the whole town uses and abuses the park.

You are actually doing good and pretty lucky to have 15-20, and that's the real sad part......If I could find the time between work, full time school, kids, baseball practice etc., I would attend everyone of them, I believe it is that important. It's a good thing that there are a few others out there with similar belief systems.......now if we can just figure out a way to make it contagious.
