This forum was a lot of fun this season and has seen more traffic this year than in the past. Thanks for joining in guys. Really enjoyed reading your posts on your hunts this year and sharing my hunts with you guys. I was hoping to hunt all 60 days of the south zone this season but had to pass on the hunting this morning. I guess the last couple of days of hunting hard kinda run me down and woke up feeling sickly this morning. I will be on the water tomorrow for the last day and still feel very blessed to be able to get 59 days of hunting in over the last 60. Cant wait to try again next year. It will all start for me on Sept 1st up in Alaska trying to get that 1st sand hill crane. Again, thanks for joining in and sharing your hunts this season guys.

Yes Duane it was fun.. I enjoy hearing what others are doing. I have alot to learn and about all I can share is my luck. I am glad this is a place to do so. I have learned that scouting is a key element. Bird Watcher is a prime example of that. I know he burns up the road keeping an eye on his birds. His success shows. Having several places to hunt so as to be flexable. It is neat to see the variety of birds you big water hunters get. Puddlers are there and divers too. Learning not to call too much and if birds are going somewhere in particular that is where they are going weither you like it or not, for me anyway. Cannot seem to change there minds. Weather is important to us all. I know some sufferd but I have had the best goose season this year but I have only did this seriously three years.Open ponds most of the time. Did a couple of field hunts in the October goose and then today. All others ponds. My first white-fronts because of warm and some stayed here instead of going South. Being thankful for every parcel of private ground you have to hunt, thankful too to Bird Watcher for letting me infringe a bit on his. I know I am welcome on that farm but don't want to mess up some other persons hard work. Thankful I am to have friends on this forum,

It was a good time in this forum this year. Marty kind of got me hooked with his early season goose reports and come to find out we hunt the same little corner of the world sometimes. A great place to talk about some hunting some birds and follow along on everyones trials and tribulations without any ego or backlash like I read a lot of on other waterfowl forums. Everyone just having a good time and talking about one of the things we all love to do.

P.S... Are you guys quitting or something? Last time I checked, goose season doesn't close until the 31st :).

Chris, I was thinking about quitting until Mike V. called and left me a message on my cell. Did not get it until this morning. He was watching them in bunches drop back to his home pond about 4:45 last Evening. He was wanting me to come over and get more? Was wanting to check with you first:) They have been mostly going to the borrow ponds along the highway where the ramps were built and then back.

When are you going? I'd still like to come up there and hunt with you one day if it would work out. I understand if you are taking your wife though. If you are going to hunt by yourself, let me know and I'll try to come up and hunt with you.

Anyday, anytime. Pat says she is to the point she will go if I don't want to go alone. You make the call. I am a lucky hunter. I need a skilled hunter to learn from. Just say when,

Haha! whatever. I don't know about the whole "skilled hunter" thing, but I can sling b.s. in the blind with the best of them. How about Wednesday? I could use a day to get caught up a little at work after the four day weekend, but I should be good to go after a full day at it tomorrow. What do you think? Would that work for you?

There's a lot of honkers in that area, or there have been all year. I haven't looked at them in about two weeks, but they've been there. You guys should have seen the waterfowl where I was in Central KS. I haven't seen as many birds all year around here as I did in three days out there.
