drew03cmc Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Well the link to my blog has come up on every one of my posts that I've made for the last two or so years. I guess that makes me an incessant spammer also? If you really don't like someone's posts, then it's easy to put them on ignore or just not read them. OTF, yours is in your signature, which is understandable, but to post the EXACT same post in three different threads on this forum qualifies as spam. Not at all , your signature appears on posts you do not post about your blog in trout related threads and then make a new thread promoting your blog. i appreciate what live2fly is doing with the podcast once again and applaude the efforts to informpeople on what has surely been a devisive topic on the boards with the felt sole ban, i'm merely clarifying drews point that this thread was likely un necessary with his 2 previous posts in both felt sole ban threads, and given that this thread has basically been de railed surely it has notacheived the desired effect anyway, as an aside i actually stumbled on your blog before i found these boards and enjoy it Exactly. Spam reported at your request. Jason, you hit the nail on the head. Andy
Addicted to Creeks Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Wrong. In it's purest sense; Spam (officially styled SPAM; derived from SPiced HAM) is a canned precooked meat product made by the Hormel Foods Corporation, first introduced in 1937. The labeled ingredients in the classic variety of Spam are chopped pork shoulder meat, with ham meat added, salt, water, modified potato starch as a binder, and sodium nitrite as a preservative. Spam's gelatinous glaze, or aspic, forms from the cooling of meat stock. Delicious with mustard Fish always lose by being "got in and dressed." It is best to weigh them while they are in the water. The only really large one I ever caught got away with my leader when I first struck him. He weighed ten pounds. —Charles Dudley Warner
Flysmallie Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Delicious with mustard I'm a mayo guy myself. Â Â

The first one wasn't spam, but #2 and #3 met the criteria for sure. I have spent most of my money on fly fishing and beer. The rest I just wasted. eric1978 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Some people only check certain sub-forums instead of using the new content button. Keep doing what you're doing L2FF, and don't listen to these a$$ clowns, especially that Trout Philanderer or Papa Smurf...wait, did he have a red hat?

ozark trout fisher Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 OTF, yours is in your signature, which is understandable, but to post the EXACT same post in three different threads on this forum qualifies as spam. Exactly. Jason, you hit the nail on the head. Why are you devoting so much attention to bashing an OAF member who is contributing more interesting and useful content than most of the rest of us are? I mean, here's the way I figure it. Quite a few of us, maybe even most of the regular contributors on here, based on our love for fishing, the outdoors, etc, are putting up some kind of creative content online, whether it's podcasts, photos, videos, writing, or something else. Most of us aren't doing this because it makes a lot of money, but just because we enjoy doing it, or because we feel that it can be helpful in some way, like getting the word out on some conservation issue or some other thing along those lines. And some of us use OAF to help get the word out about these things. I do, as I mentioned, with my signature, and a few other times when I have directly linked to some article from one of the outdoor websites that I help run. As long as it's not something blatantly commercial, and as long as a moderator doesn't say otherwise, I don't see anything wrong with this.
stlfisher Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 Three topics on didymo and felt and three posts about the podcast. It is not like he was just posting at random. A bit much maybe cause they all got bumped to the top, but not really not spam in my book. One would think whoever posted in those threads might be interested in learning a bit more. And if you posted the same opinion's on Didymo in those 3 thread's three different times would that make you a spammer? I agree on the Mayo and a bit of mustard with a kick

He needs to realize that what he has done is like talking about YOUR thing in conversation repeatedly. It is annoying and makes people disregard everything you say. I realize he is doing a good thing, but the way he has gone about doing it is not kosher. Oh well, if you all want to kneel before him, go right ahead. Andy
