woodman Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I guess we should carry a copy of the ruling along with our fishing licenses when on a stream.... http://s147.photobucket.com/albums/r302/scrawford_photos/
timsfly Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I'm going to carry a copy of this next time I'm accused of trespassing, I'll give one copy to the land owner and one to the officer that comes down to talk to me, a copy, if they read it should get me out of a jam or confuse them so they won't know what to do Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop

drew03cmc Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Crick, they are illegally posting public water. If the water is floatable, it is public. I am with Tim. I am printing out that SCOM ruling and putting it in the boat, vest and my waterproof box. Hey, that isn't the Hwy 5 bridge. Which bridge is that? I am on Google Maps, and near Evergreen, there aren't that many crossings. Andy

I am on Google Maps, and near Evergreen, there aren't that many crossings. Upstream from the HWY 5 bridge, it's a low water crossing on Atlanta Rd. Cricket, they are illegally posting public water. Isn't Chief currently facing down a trespassing charged based upon that assumption as well? (FWIW I think it's BS too, but just like last time, when the deputy shows up they don't accept print outs or arguments.. We did attempt it and you could see the tempers on the bank begin to flare! I tend to shy away from arguments with authority figures who are being unreasonable.. But I agree the ambiguity of the "law" is getting a bit old round these parts.) cricket.c21.com
drew03cmc Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Yeah, I completely understand your viewpoint on this matter, but honestly, unless the state is going to educate these buffoons on the ruling making these waters public, it is up to us. Andy
ness Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 What'd be nice is if we could get MDC on board with a statement that sums the law up in 4-5 bullet points that'll fit on a laminated card. With their logo on top. Just dreamin' Why doesn't somebody just lasso that sign? John
Gavin Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there And that sign said - no tress passin' But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin! Now that side was made for you and me! Woody Guthrie

ColdWaterFshr Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 That sign looks like it could be hungry for a high velocity tater.
