drew03cmc Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Does anyone have any idea what their plans are for water releases tomorrow? Can anyone post a picture of Outlet 1 and 2 at about the current flow level? Andy
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 1, 2012 Root Admin Posted February 1, 2012 4 units early dropping to 2 units by noon, then back up to 3 at dark. Don't have any pics that show those levels exactly... I'd start at outlet 2 and go to 3 when they drop it BUT I'm not an outlet expert. I'm heading to the White for a couple of days early tomorrow so I'll miss your visit- have a great time.
drew03cmc Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 Fishing wasn't bad, but for me (not everyone around me) it was pretty slow. I caught five rainbows and my first brown on the fly. Andy

Brian K. Shaffer Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Sorry I missed you Drew. We'll be fishing together next time. Water is currently running - 0 units.. 915.1 lake level tailwater level - 701.8 when did they shut it down ?? for it to be so low now.. shut down at 10pm ? Just once I wish a trout would wink at me! ozarkflyfisher@gmail.com I'm the guy wearing the same Simms longbilled hat for 10 years now.
duckydoty Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 I got down there about 10:30 last night and the water was dropping. Took it forever to drop out. Left at 2 in the morning and it still had not dropped all the way out, but it was getting close. Fishing was fair. Landed 15 total. Fished streamers only and caught most on white. drew03cmc Posted February 2, 2012 Author Posted February 2, 2012 There is the first brown on the fly, and Rick, I think 6 was a bad day for me down there. Everyone who I watched fish was catching fish ten to my one. One guy was fishing a brown G-bug over an olive G-bug. I wasn't too put off by it, just a learning experience. I was prepared for high water with streamers, not an indicator rig all day. I will be more prepared next time. I enjoyed it and will be back down there again this year. I would have liked to fish at rebar and the other holes I have read about, but the stream never dropped below 707 and got as high as 710. It wasn't ideal for a first trip, but next time I will be far more prepared! Thanks for all the advice guys, and I need to come fish it at night with someone this spring. Andy
RSBreth Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Taney's an amazing place - but with the generation it has it's quirks that the only way to really get a handle on it is time on the water. Nice Brown!
drew03cmc Posted February 3, 2012 Author Posted February 3, 2012 Thanks Randy. I would like some more time on the water. Andy
