Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 14, 2012 Root Admin Posted February 14, 2012 Met Duane at the dam mid day today. Water was dropping out. Headed to rebar- Duane had a new worm material Tim Homesley gave him he wanted to try out. Yes- it caught fish! But I tied on a brown san juan and caught this rainbow - Good fight too. Cool beans!! Caught a bunch actually till the water completely dropped out and then it got slow. Here's some more pics - playing around while the sun is out bright.
Feathers and Fins Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 But did Duane catch any is the million dollar question... https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
duckydoty Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Well of course I did. I was actually testing two different flies today. The worm and a minnow pattern that I have been tying for Alaska. The minnow is fun! Can't wait to try it at night A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Members rvconrad Posted February 14, 2012 Members Posted February 14, 2012 Sounds like you had a good time Duane. Did you fish yesterday in the snow?
duckydoty Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Ralph, No I did not get out in the snow yesterday. How did you end up doing? A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Members rvconrad Posted February 15, 2012 Members Posted February 15, 2012 Caught fish all day long, non stop. Caught 8 on 8 casts at one pool. I think Tim had a five, Roger a four, and I had a three. Tim left early, Roger and I had the river to ourselves for the whole day. A great way to end the season at RR.
duckydoty Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 I got a couple of action shots of Phil and a picture of the minnow flies. The green and white worked the best for me. Picked up a few on the grey and white. Like I said earlier.....cant wait to try them at night and on the white bass. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Feathers and Fins Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 Nice looking flies Duane, I may have to steal your idea and super size them a bit. Im betting I can get some stripers on saturday to go for flies. Surface feeding stripers are suckers for flies and those look like lolly pops. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
duckydoty Posted February 15, 2012 Posted February 15, 2012 They are lolly pops for sure. I've been tying them on TMC 9395's which is a 4 times long hook size 6 and 8. The small fish skulls work good for that size. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
