Bassmaster21 Posted March 11, 2012 Posted March 11, 2012 That is a good point. I think thats where the added challenge of older thecnologies comes in to play. Its not just "can you kill and animal with a recurve or longbow", its "can you kill the animal with a recurve or longbow BUT do it with the same efficencey as using a compound" Now fishing is a slightly different story but same general idea.
Walcrabass Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Feathers and Fins, I agree with you totally on the tournaments in hot weather and fishing for the bedding bass. It has been scientifically studied on the effects of catching bedding bass. I have read where some of them never return to bed even if they are immediately released. Livewells can be equipped with cooling reservoirs of ice and thermostats with pumps. This definitely helps keep them alive. The problem is that when they are weighed and released they are shocked by being put back into the warm water. They need to be gradually warmed back up. One thing I would like to mention on this subject is that when fishing a tournament in Missouri in the hot months it is illegal to cull fish. Now that we have discussed this matter I think everyone knows why. How many of our tournament fishermen are honest and honorable enough to do this???? Don't know but I hope all of them!!!

So you aren't interested in purchasing this Chuck Woolery Moto-Chug I just picked up? I was thinking of finding four more and attaching them to an A-rig... cricket.c21.com
Members Bassman212 Posted March 13, 2012 Members Posted March 13, 2012 I haven't tried them, can't afford them, and would rather not use them. They have been advertised as the best thing since sliced bread, but just like every technique I'm sure they have good days as well as bad days. To each their own, but I am glad they aren't legal on the BASS elite series. It's fun to watch those guys catch em on a variety of lures. Good luck and tight lines, cheers. Lookie there...I've got a bite...
Feathers and Fins Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 The A-rig really isnt the best. The fish i was catching last night wouldnt bite the dang thing, Live shad yes, Fly oh yes, Bucktail with a curlytail grub yes. A-rig NOPE.. I threw it several times into a wide open boil of stipers and bass and they turned their nose at it I could see the fish and the rig on their nose and not take. Next time they did it i flipped a fly out and was hooked up. Its like the newest must have toy for christmas every kid wants one untill they get bored with it and go back to legos. What is it about legos that even big kids still love them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
