mic Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 I could probably cut down to only these on most streams but I'm too much of a fly junkie to ever attempt it. #8 polish nymph #16 biot nymph #14 Soft hackle hare's ear #12 Klinkhammer #16 CDC & Elk -Mike I've thought about trying the Klinkhammer. What is your experience with it?

Only two dries, two wets, and one streamer. Have to pic your colors also.
Gavin Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 No can do....If limited to 5 flies for Missouri.....They would all be nymphs.

Members MikeH Posted February 27, 2012 Members Posted February 27, 2012 I've thought about trying the Klinkhammer. What is your experience with it? It's a great searching pattern. I'm amazed sometimes how fish will come out of nowhere to nail it. In appropriate sizes and colors it works great as a mayfly emerger as well. It is also, hands down, my favorite for dry dropper; really easy to see and can hold up a nymph with the best of them. -Mike

Jack Jones Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 So the Klinkhammer is a dry? Fished as a dry? I'd never heard of it until I looked it up. "Thanks to Mother Mercy, Thanks to Brother Wine, Another night is over and we're walking down the line" - David Mallett
