drew03cmc Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Hmm, thanks JD. I was taking a spin rod as well anyway, but with the recommendations, I will run with it. Andy
Mitch f Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I would go with an ultralight and a rooster tail with gold blades and yellow, white, or black tail. Or tube jigs. JD, A bunch has changed in the last 40 years, I mean Dylan has gone electric man! An ultralite rod with rooster tails? How are you going to drive the hook home on a tube jig with an ultralite? like playing pool with a rope! :have-a-nice-day: you know im just playin with ya "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
RSBreth Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I used to fish a couple of those Flint Hill creeks - I'd try suspending jerkbaits (try the XRap in the 08 size, the Husky Jerk in the 10 size, or the Suspending Rogue Junior - all of these have two trebles, not three) and swimming grubs or smaller swimbaits. Slow deep pools with timber near the deepest part of the pool was usually the best shot.
drew03cmc Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Which creeks did you used to fish Randy? I haven't fished any of them, and I wish I had access to a few of them. Andy

Those lures work as well as anything. Plus they're cheap:)
eric1978 Posted March 3, 2012 Posted March 3, 2012 I mean Dylan has gone electric man! LOL I'd take a coffee can full of worms. Red can. Hills Brothers.
drew03cmc Posted March 3, 2012 Author Posted March 3, 2012 Eric, that thought never crossed my mind. OTF, I agree with you. The Rebel Craw is a very useful bait in small waters, as are the Rooster Tails! Andy
RSBreth Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 I used to hit the Fall River above Fall River Reservior and the Caney River (actually pretty small like a creek) but both were back in the 90's before I moved to the Ozarks. I fished a few other's a couple of times but not enough to get a real "pattern" on like the other two.
drew03cmc Posted March 4, 2012 Author Posted March 4, 2012 Man, I want to hit Fall River, but am unsure if it is wadeable as I am boatless at the moment. Andy
RSBreth Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 No, I used to hual my big tandem canoe down into the Fall - which was not fun but necessary - the Fall isn't all that deep but has stretches with steep mud banks that just aren't wadeable.
