I believe ya Bry, I too, seen unbelievable schools of juvenile bass last year in Bull Shoals...Numbers like I have never seen in my 20+ years in the area. Thank god alot of the walleye i had caught were targeting them. Saves the poor, poor bass from my fish fryer. Our dock on Table Rock had 3 or 4 large seperate schools juvenile bass under it. Only problem with TR is to many bass in it for my blood. Rather catch fish with teeth, but to each is own. Although before the rain came in the crappie on the Kings were unreal. Limits with fish up to 2.5 pounds. Quite a few in the 1.5 pound range......

Wait they might have been gizzard shad...... :have-a-nice-day:

I too guide on TR and Bull mostly in the summer because I teach. I don't wear glasses so my vision is pretty good... 20/20 in fact. I was fishing Bull last week, and what do ya know. Little flat cuts in the creek arms with 100's, yes 100's of little 6in lmb. I threw a small stick bait at them, and what do ya know I caught a 6in lmb. Then I caught another then another.... you get the point. I don't post much on this board but sometimes I gotta back up people that have good info to share. Thanks Bry for the good info and everyone else as well. Back to teaching...

bry, dont take it wrong. Some of these guys spend days upon days on the water and if they havent run into it, then sometimes its hard to believe. Being they have seen shad do it, then it was an honest question. I thought that also when I first read it. We all hear stories from people that think they know and really they dont have a clue about the situation they are seeing. Was fishing the other day and a gentleman was telling me about fish boiling in a back of the next cove. Went over to see about catching some "easy" fish. Only thing I saw was large gizzard shad flipping on the surface once in awhile. Nothing chasing them, just their normal routine. Thought I had missed them. The gentlemen came back around and said, "Look at all those fish boiling, they are sure tearing it up." In his mind he was right, and not to argue I just left it alone.

I know I run into this often, and Im sure the better guys on here run into it more than I do. Dont feel bad, keep posting.

The heck with seeing a school of hundreds of 6 inch bass, I want to hear of someone seeing hundreds of 6 POUND bass in a school. :D

The nature of forums, especially those that are very active with lots of participants, is that you're going to get into pissing contest (and even worse conflicts) occasionally.

That being said...

You have to #1 - knock the chip off the shoulder before you enter the room and #2 grow some thick skin.

Over the 7 years this forum has been in existence, I've seen lots of members come and go. And the "go" for lots of reasons. The one thing that irritates me most about people leaving and/or not posting is that their either run off by forum "bullies" or they leave because they can't take a little criticism. Not saying that's happening here on this topic- it's not. But it does happen.

Wonder why guides won't post here? Cause they get piled on when they give their "professional" opinion.

I have campaigned for guides to post reports on the forum from all area lakes in the past to no avail. Should really appreciate the ones on here that do, and I know you do and show it.

Bry, Jimmy Pierce, Phillip Stone, Bill Babler - thanks!

But I will say that this forum is built on common anglers sharing fishing reports, stories and tips and I think that will always be the case.

Thank you everyone!!

Bry and others....

I broke a golden rule - at least my golden rule.

I am an admin on the site. I see a lot more than anyone else on the site and I just discovered I see everyone's email address in their profile when others do not. I assumed (and you know what that stands for) and I was wrong.

Thus, I assumed the name as part of the email I saw, that no one else could see, was the name I mentioned. I was wrong, and very wrong to even post it.

Bry- I am very sorry I posted that name. It's been changed in the post and I'm not posting it now in respect to your dad.

Thanks for your post.

I mainly fish Norfork these days as I live about 1/2 a mile away from it. Last fall and here in the last couple weeks I have seen numerous schools of LMB hanging around the backside of docks or in empty dock stalls. These schools of fish have been 6-12 inch fish and anywhere from 10-50 fish.

I think we can all agree this is a very good sign for the future of our fisheries.
