hoglaw Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Any reports from the other end of the lake? The White got pretty big. Is the water bad muddy in the 412 area? Was hoping to cut out and do some crappie fishing tomorrow. Wonder if that's still an option? FF, you think what water we got is enough for the catfish to do their thing in PC?
Feathers and Fins Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I dont know but im going ot go look in awhile. Im going to first check Lake Atlanta if its not pouring over the spillway to create the run-off that stirs up the creek then i doubt it. I gotta check on a jobsite at 10 then im going to go look over the Atlanta , the creek and the to Prairie creek to see what it looks like. This dam rain is annoying me I need to go fishing, but on the same coin It is giving me the oppertunity to get the boat clean and add the new modifications and toys to it that who knows when i would have otherwise lol. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
sfiser Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 was at prarie creek yesterday afternoon/evening. color was normal and the lake really hadnt come up much then. Its come up around 2-2 1/2 feet total so far.. Probably will come up another foot or 2. i doubt the mud makes it all the way down to prarie creek but I have been wrong before. If they dont have to open the flood gates, that will help keep that mud up the lake too. Those flood gates pull alot of current and with those shut that mudline moves much slower.
hoglaw Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Here's what the spillway at Atalanta looks like today. Definitely a lot of water coming down the creek, but not washing over the low water bridge or anything. Went down to old PC road and the creek is very muddy. Lots of current moving through it, and a definite mudline coming out where it hits the lake. I'm going to give the catfish a shot tomorrow after work I think.
Feathers and Fins Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Ran down to PC this afternoon to Blue Sky and nice conditions. Interesting I saw a striper guide boat out there. The creek is running pretty good and sending mud out on to the flat but not much past it. It isnt even reaching the first boat house yet. I did see some surface feeding activity around the old dirt road (probably bass) as there were some shad flipping. My guess on catfishing is possible but unlikely. Bass will probably be a better bet and come this weekend stripers and walleye as the water clears. The moving water out of the creek should spur them into biting. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
hoglaw Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Well that's a bummer. As it happens, we were planning on taking a co-worker's boat who lives near PC. Unfortunately newborns have very little regard for fishing schedules, and his was up all night with an ear infection, so I don't have a boat or anyone to fish with today. I did manage to pick up a new tackle box from Academy last night. You know how it goes, went in for some pants for softball, left with a $200 tab. Guess I'll get to spend tonight transferring and reorganizing. Not a bad thing.
Feathers and Fins Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I feel for you I would love to be out but finally got our tax appointment so im locked in to finding out if we pay or if we get paid. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Quillback Posted March 22, 2012 Author Posted March 22, 2012 Water's up almost 4 feet - good thing we did not get as much rain as predicted.
