that was me. If you were the one in the Highlander, I was the one at Baptist on my return run. FYI: though early didn't help (at least me) this time, getting to Tan Vat early has helped at times when the tricos are out.

Yep, that was me in the Highlander. So what do you use during the trico hatch at Tan Vat? I usually do well there at the riffle with Pat's rubber legs. But obviously that doesn't imitate a trico.....

Went down to Baptist Camp yesterday morning for a few hours of fishing. Hiked down the service road to the "tire" and started fishing the log. Immediately got into two rainbows, normal size. Both caught on an egg pattern (orange size 10 with a beadhead). Later, I decided that I'm sick and tired of fishing with egg patterns, so I switched so that I could practice with a dry-dropper. I am so glad I did. I caught 4 browns on a size 14 Royal Wolf. Nothing was caught on my droppers, and I switched those all day long. However, the Wolf did great for the few hours I fished there. I saw (spooked) some PIGS.

Conditions: intermittent sunshine, 78 degrees, 114 CFS, lots of people for a Monday, water slightly off color.

Does anyone think that getting there early is required to have a good day of fishing? I was there at sunrise and did no better than I normally do getting there at noon. I assume the brown bite is better in early/late daylight hours. But I was surprised I didn't do better than about 5-6 fish in about 3 1/2 hours.

Great report. Got to love it when they're up and taking big attractor dries...

Do my eyes deceive me or are you wet wading in March?

Are those your legs or are they just reddish stumps that you balance your upper body on?

His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974

Yep, wet wading in March...on the Current. I couldn't believe it either. Water was a little shocking at first, but you acclimated pretty fast...as long as you kept the jewels dry.

I use tiny (23?) tricos with a scarlet post I got from a friend. he gets them from someone he reportedly met at Babtist. If you can see the fly, it's a hoot to fish when they are sipping FYI; when I said i was the one at Baptist, just want to make sure you (all) realize i wasn't the one you mention with a brown on a stringer. I can fit the idiot category, but i don't keep fish. Inlighting to hear you were wet wading. It was pretty amazing how quick you went from getting to the lot to the water.

I wasn't the one who mentioned the person with the brown on the stringer. Nor was I the one wet wading. But I do move quickly when I arrive....only because I'm excited to fish, not because I "have to get to this hole first".
