rps Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Although I often feel "picked on," I know I am not alone. Today, on a Friday, after a week of less than wonderful fishing conditions for my Spring break, I arranged for Allan to meet me at the marina to gas my rig. He had to adjust his dock lines anyway and happily agreed. I took the boat off the lift and cruised over. I managed to hit the marina dock at just the right angle and speed to break the trolling motor prop. (Insert your preferred comment here.) I put the boat, now fully fueled, back on its lift. I made a call to BP in Springfield and Branson. Both can ship one but do not have one in stock. The whole world can send me one by overnight for about the cost of the gas to go to Springfield, however ... overnight does not deliver on Saturday. In other words, Saturday and Sunday are no go days. For my entire Spring break I have put one keeper black and one keeper white in the boat. I have caught a grand total of 5 fish from one of the world's great fisheries. Shucky Darn! Do I feel accomplished or what?
Feathers and Fins Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Randy, Academy in Rogers has alot of props for trolling motors ( electric I assume ) if metal try calling Wolf Marine in Rogers they had a bunch in stock last i checked. Im not going to tell you what lake is wide open for striper and walleye but if you guess right it would make for a perfect stop on your way home with your boat. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
podum Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Condolences. I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

Other stuff yes, but not hardware for boats. I may well call or drive down tomorrow. Is Wolf a decent maintenance stop? I had need earlier this year for an Evinrude 100 hour. I posted a question about authorized dealers but did not recieve much feedback. Wolf would be closer than where I went in Kimberling City.
rps Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 BTW, I forgot to say thank you. One of the good things about this forum is the number of people willing to share what they have learned or know.
Feathers and Fins Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Call them first for sure, I had a mishap on my trolling motor prop and had a knew one in 20 minutes thanks to Academy carrying them ( electric trolling motors that is ). If they dont Bradford Marine might. I havent heard a bad thing about wolf other than the long wait to get a boat in, but that tells me a lot of people trust them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
rps Posted March 24, 2012 Author Posted March 24, 2012 The two happiest days in a fisherman's life is the day he buys a new boat and the day he sell it. Word!
gotmuddy Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 wal mart carries trolling motor props too. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Dutch Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 While you are at it, buy 2 so this won't happen again.
