duckydoty Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Phil uses them alot and we use some in Alaska. Great waterproof camera/video for HD. Sound is a bit muffled in the waterproof case. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. Ozark Trout Runners
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 10, 2012 Root Admin Posted April 10, 2012 What DD said. They are great cameras. Brian Wise is using them now too.
pvspmo Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I have one and have used it for mountain bike riding and bow hunting. I love it! I would also agree with the sound in the waterproof case... You can mount them almost anywhere with the grab bag of mounts they sell.
ollie Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Come by the house and borrow mine if you want to try one out. All the pics on here that I have taken has been with one. The only drawback I have with mine is not having the ability to zoom in on something. Fixed lense with the 5 mp. The newer ones have a larger mp, but still no zoom. Other than that I love mine! Kelroy Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Impulse shopper's nightmare. Once I got mine, I couldn't stop buying mounts and gadgets for it. I mainly use it as a helmet cam on my bike rides. File sizes are much bigger than I am accustomed to, but that's the norm with high-def. Love it. Thinking about getting a second one, and possibly flirting with the 3D setup.
Stoneroller Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 I use mine exclusively when I'm on my kayak. Best $300 i've ever spent. The underwater video is blurry unless you get a flat lens for it. Makospearguns.com makes one for $20. The underwater video of the smallmouth on beds that I shot is shot with a GoPro. Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. ollie Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 Hey Chief, another good website that gives good advice on them is eyeofmine.com "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
Chief Grey Bear Posted April 11, 2012 Author Posted April 11, 2012 Thanks for the info fellas. I am pretty sure I am gonna end up with one of these. No zoom huh???? That kinda bites. Stoneroller Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 no zoom but the trade off for incredible full 1080p HD video is worth it. plus the new Hero2 has even better low light performance and 10Mp still shots. scotty makes a nice little mount that will fit scotty mounting brackets. greenfish also makes a pretty awesome mount that provides a ton of flexibility. personally I use the handlebar mount on my light pole. the uw video was shot with the handlebar mount on a extendable pole.
