riverfish Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 am i wrong in thinking that the LEGAL length limit on a walleye is 18in? and is that state wide or does it vary from lake to lake? i just remember reading that when i was a younger and if it has changed i surely was not aware of it. just wondering b/c i been reading on some of the other forums on this website. and some people are claiming to be catching some really nice 15 in walleye on some of the other lakes up north in missouri and how good they are going to be on the table. either they changed the length limit and im unaware or if you want fish to eat there apparently isn't any rules and regs.
rps Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 I am fairly sure 18" is the minimum in Beaver, Table Rock, Bull Shoals, and Norfolk. At Stockton the minimum is 15".
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted April 15, 2012 Root Admin Posted April 15, 2012 Look on the different lake sites on OA. For instance http://www.ozarkangl...om/table-rock/. Each lake site has the regulations listed. Some lakes are not on the main site yet. If you have any questions on any other lake, post the question on the forum that applies. You'll get a good accurate answer.
Hunter91 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I believe the statewide limit is 15inches except for the lakes listed at 18inches.
duckydoty Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I think in the Mississippi River there is either no lenght limit or a 12 inch length limit. Been a long time since if fished for them below the locks and dams, so I'm not 100% sure on that. A Little Rain Won't Hurt Them Fish.....They're Already Wet!! Visit my website at.. powerdive Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Hunter91 is correct. Table Rock is 18. More importantly, riverfish, why do you ask?
riverfish Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 i was simpy unaware i just always thought it was 18 thats all
steveearle Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 It is variable from waterway to waterway. There is acutally no length limit on the Miss River and its 8 walleye limit per person (only body of water with these regs). State limit is 4 fish and was reduced from 18" to 15" back in about 2000, I believe, with the 18" limit waters still as follows (from MDC website): Bull Shoals Lake and its tributaries, Current River and its tributaries, Eleven Point River and its tributaries, Long Branch Lake, Norfork Lake and its tributaries, Table Rock Lake and its tributaries, Wappapello Lake and its tributaries, including the St. Francis River and its tributaries above Wappapello Dam.
