ozark trout fisher Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I don't like to use photoshop as a general rule. I personally prefer my pictures to be a representation of what I actually saw, not an an artistic, or distorted version. But as long as you're not trying to pass a picture off as being completely unmanipulated, it doesn't bother me. Some people legitimately like to use their photography as a form of art, and that's OK too. The only important thing is just to be honest about it, and not pass off a doctored photo as "natural".
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 The only important thing is just to be honest about it, and not pass off a doctored photo as "natural". What if someone uses pictures in a report that were taken years earlier inconjuction with pictures taken on the actual trip and leaves the perception of the reader to believe they were all taken on the same trip???? ness Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 You mean a report here? No journalistic integrity required to post on here. Using a fake name helps too. John
Chief Grey Bear Posted May 4, 2012 Posted May 4, 2012 I understand that being a flat lander prohibits normal concentration, so I will try help you understand. God willing of course. Let's say you posted about a trip you just took and you posted some pictures of that trip for all to see. And let's say that some of those pictures were actually some that you had really taken, say, a couple of years earlier. Only you didn't say they were from a couple of years earlier. Is that dishonest?? Is that dishonest?? Flatlander means I can see far beyond what you ditch-dwellers can. Anyhoo -- if an old photo in a current report here is used to deceive the reader, it's clearly wrong. If it's to better tell the story of how the day went, well, that's a tad better -- but still questionable enough that I wouldn't do it here without disclosing it. It's pretty routine stuff in publications though. John

Buzz Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Here's a pic of me yesterday after I caught a 10# smallie from Shoal Creek. Nice. If fishing was easy it would be called catching.
ness Posted May 5, 2012 Posted May 5, 2012 Here's a pic of me yesterday after I caught a 10# smallie from Shoal Creek. I think that's been Photoshopped to make you look younger. Oh, and the EXIF info says you took it with a Nikon Coolpix S550 on June 12, 2011. John
