Branson is unique in this way- you can spend some $$$ and see some pretty cool stuff or stay on the cheap side and still stay very busy with low priced places to go and quite a few free places.

Free-

Trout Hatchery

New Dewy Short Corp Visitor Center

College of the Ozarks Tour

Branson Landing (walk around, lake front)

Nature Trails

Cheap-

Table Rock Dam Tour

Museum at C of O

Is the dam tour going again? Or maybe that should read, "Is the tour of the dam going again?" Thought it was shut down to keep all of us threatening Ozark types from taking pictures of it after 9/11.

I have to echo all that has been recommended, including the Steak Inn..it is very good. The College of the Ozarks, Keeter Center is also fantastic. I am not much of a show guy, but SIX is outstanding for all ages. I would take my grandma or my 16 year old daughter and they would both love it. Joseph at Sight and Sound is Broadway quality, no doubt and a wonderful message. As a note, Top of the Rock is not currently open as Bass Pro owner, Johnny Morris, is STILL remodeling it after a fire a few years back. The best mexican food in my opinion can be found at the Branson Landing at Cantina Laredo right on the banks of Lake Taneycomo. Might as well bring the boat down and catch some fish before you head up for dinner.....

Tourist trap? I suppose it is how you look at it. I say an affordable vacation compared to most other options out there. High quality entertainment, of all kinds, nature, singing, magic, mini golf, real golf, shopping, go karts, laser tag, and of course, world class fishing and much much more. Oh yeah and some of the nicest people you will ever meet. If that is a tourist trap...then sign me up.

By the way, I have lived here for close to 25 years and I am NOT in the Tourist industry.

Have fun and tell your friends to come see us too.

PS - Dont forget to stop by Andy's frozen custard for dessert

"Eureka is a good place to pick up some Arkansas wines and run them back across the line. Just don't let Jesus see on the way out of town."

That has to be one of the best lines I have read in awhile :secret-laugh: So if he doesnt see you then it isnt bad?? If that is the case boy am I going to have some fun in the dark!

I would also recommend Billy Gayles (SP) for breakfast.....pancakes bigger than my head and I have a big head!

Well, He does sort of have the high ground on you in Eureka.

Thanks again everyone!! This has been a big help in us finding things to look into doing. We are really getting anxious to head that way!

Yes, they finally figured out there was no one smart enough or energetic enough around here to bother with it.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
