Outside Bend Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Nice walleye by anyone's estimation, good on the kid and you both! How many times has he asked to go back out since? <{{{><
Members Hellac Posted May 26, 2012 Members Posted May 26, 2012 Very nice! As I read your post the memories of my kid's first catches came back, and that was quite a while ago - lol. Glad you both had a great time on the water - keep it up!
Members rntmvp6 Posted May 28, 2012 Author Members Posted May 28, 2012 Well we havent had a chance to go since but he asks me just about every day to go out. He is still talking about that fish, and how he cant believe he caught a bigger fish than me:) Cant wait to go again and once he gets bigger teaching him the ropes of tourney fishing.
9LB Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 A man's first Walleye! Unfortunately I will never have this experience. I have all girls. My 7 year old has landed every species and sometimes too many and her sisters usually outfish me too.
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 It is now your job to teach him defeat.... LOL I am trying to teach my boys how it feels to be skunked, but have yet to do it. They skunked me last year on fathers day, and I am still trying to make it up to them. Kinda hard when they know how to get a snag, but don't know how to tie a knot. Oh, well. Maybe this year. Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. (me) I am the master of my unspoken words, and the slave to those that should have remained unsaid. (unknown)
Members murphdog Posted May 30, 2012 Members Posted May 30, 2012 Great father/son fishing story! I hope you have many more memorable day together on the water and in the woods. Nothing beats memories like this! Life's way too short not to fish!
9LB Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I love this line "Kinda hard when they know how to get a snag, but don't know how to tie a knot." So true ! I got 3 girls I take out and a few friends that are higher maintenance then them.
OzarkFishman Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Awesome experiences happen everytime you take your young ones out (I said awesome, not always perfect ). Great catch for your boy!!!
