Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 6, 2012 Root Admin Posted June 6, 2012 Here in B-town for Caleb's wedding Friday. Most of the family is here. Mom and dad couldn't make it because of health issues. Beautiful weather here. Cool, dry air. We're close to the ocean staying at a big estate home (rental) in Gloucester, MA. Don't thing fishing is in the cards but I've heard we're going whale watching Saturday. Lots of pics coming...
KCRIVERRAT Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Catch a Sox game Phil and boo them profusely. What kind of whales are up the N.E. coast this time of year? I've seen plenty of Humpbacks with their babies in tow in Hawaii. Pretty cool when they breach. HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
eric1978 Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 You can see humpbacks, finbacks and minke whales up there. Also dolphins. We saw all three whales when we were there a few years ago. A night at Fenway is awesome if you can swing it. Coolest ballpark I've been to. You can taste the history in that place. Don't wear your Cards hat...those boneheads take it way too seriously...seriously. The other thing is Lexington/Concord. Take a tour if you can. Super cool stuff there.

Jack Jones Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 As a former New Englander, I spent many family vacations in Gloucester/Rockport/Cape Ann. Make sure you peruse the shops at Bearskin Neck in Rockport. You can get a good meal at the Gloucester House. Actually you can get a good meal almost anywhere, LOL. I spent many afternoons on Long Beach there in Cape Ann freezing my butt off in the Atlantic Ocean. That's what I called fun, LOL! Salem is only about a 15-20 minute drive from you. Well worth wandering around and taking in a bit of the history. If you're a beer fan, the Salem Beerworks isn't half bad. If you really have time out there, Portsmouth, NH is a half hour or so north and you could hit their main drag. Cool shops, brewpubs, etc.. Finally, the outlet malls in Kittery, ME as well as Kennebunk are cool too. Bottom line, awesome area, lots to do. Just pick your hobby and enjoy it. Sometimes I miss that area so much. Quillback Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 Ex-Bostonian myself, went to Northeastern, worked downtown for 6 years. Add visiting the USS Constitution to your list. It's also your chance to pig out on lobster, should be able to pick them up somewhere in the Gloucester area at a reasonable price, get a steamer for them and chow down! Maybe add some steamer clams also. Man I'm hungry thinking about it! Go Sox!
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 7, 2012 Posted June 7, 2012 I was there once many, many moons ago and if it were me I would head north at the first opportunity and not stop until I was at a smallmouth filled pond in Maine. Screw that Eric... I'm floating next week. I know you understand brother. A float or a hike? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 7, 2012 Author Root Admin Posted June 7, 2012 I guess we're going to a Sox game. My bro-in-law is a HUGE Yankee fan and he wants to go start a fight
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted June 7, 2012 Author Root Admin Posted June 7, 2012 Lobster boil has now been added to our list of meals

A float or a hike? Eleven Point. Should be fine (you know me Wayne... don't wanna hike!). HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
