Ham
Hey CM, I don't have my MDC Paddlers guide in front of me, but the first launch above the confluence with Spring Creek is as far upstream as I want to fish anymore. I think we put in off of Hwy 14 once a few years back. I won't waste my eforts on that again. Again, Good Luck have fun, but turn loose ALL the smallies you catch. chub minnow
Thanks for all the help guys. We'll probably have our shuttle driver drop us at Bertha and do that run. We won't be eating any smallies - haven't in years. Trout and goggleye on the other hand is a different story. Now we just have to pray for rain! Members bronzeback miner
My limited experience has always been that any spot below the spring at Hodgson Mill/Sycamore access will have enough water. I did a little fishing at Martin Cemetery and Warren Bridge and caught decent fish both times. I never had much luck at Florence Cook (approx 4 mi from NF confluence) "Some people fish all their life never knowing it is not the fish they are after"--Henry David Thoreau

Ham
Feel free to keep all the Kentucky bass you catch. I don't think there is anything wrong with Spotted Bass being in Bryant. I haven't fished any of the streams that were all smallie and are becoming all spotted bass, but those changes occured because of habitat changes made by man. I'm not sure I've caught a Spotted Bass above Sylamore. It seems like the Spots are mostly a couple of miles below Warren Bridge, BUT my memory ain't what it used to be. Riverwhy
I have fished Bryant for over 40 years and have regularly caught spotted bass as far up as Bertha. A diverse fishery is one of the special qualities of the Bryant.
Wayne SW/MO
I caught my only mean mouth out of Bryant, a little above Cook. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
