We fished the lower James a few weeks ago and caught 6 or so largemouth and about 10 smallmouth. They were all released to be caught another day. I lost a 2.5lb smallmouth due to frayed line, so I was pretty bummed. Until I set the hook on this beauty. Caught him out of a deep hole behind a submerged boulder. I thought it was a largemouth, but when I realized it was a smallmouth, I couldn't have been more excited.

Close to home, great time fishing, and I threw them all back. Good luck!

Nice and good job on protecting tomorrow.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Nice smallie. I wouldn't have named where I caught it, but that's just me.
