Stump bumper Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 No one really brought this up, just noticed it was on my DVR. Not really that interesting since it was so long ago, but didn't have any problem recognizing areas from Horseshoe Bend down past point 12. I was really surprised how many were throwing an A-rig and how small the baits were on them.Don't remember that much talk about the A-rig during the tournament but 80% of the fish I saw caught on the show was caught on an A-rig. Just made me a little mad how they went on about 5lb bass being so rare on Beaver when I have had spring days were a 5lber was my smallest of a 5 fish bag. If they were catching 7-8 lbs then I would agree but there are a lot of 5lb bass in that lake and it doesn't warrant a pro status when you catch one. Any thoughts about the show?
Feathers and Fins Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Really could care less about what the "pro's" have to say about the lake they are here for 1 week out of the year fishing. Seriously how can you rate or give an opinion on a Lake you fish for a week and for one species. I think many of us could write on the lakes around here we fish ( and do each day we post ) and those views and perspectives makes me want to fish them and experiance them far more than what any tournament angler only here for a short time has to say. When I hear about a lake I want to hear it from people who have a passion for it and talk about not only its good points but even its bad points so I understand the lake. I want to hear about the other species on it.. Think about this I have caught Gar on a fly on Beaver and Stripers and Walleye, but I also hunt deer on its islands and waterfowl on it as well. There is so much more to a lake then one species and one week. I want to know the heart of the lake and all its limbs from people who care about it because its home. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Members creekin bassnerd Posted June 13, 2012 Members Posted June 13, 2012 I can't remember too well, but didn't finesse presentations outfish all them A-rigs being flung around to win that tournament?

All I saw on the "show" was A-rigs and a spook, I don't remember either one being talked about during the tourney.
Jerry Rapp Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 you should jump on as a co angler next year stump bumper when FLW comes back. The "pros" would love you.
Stump bumper Posted June 14, 2012 Author Posted June 14, 2012 I've talked to a lot of them over the years only a handful I could spend 8 hours with and would not want to chance that to a draw.
