2sheds Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Planning a mid-July one-night stopover in Southern Missouri and wondering what the experts have to say about camping and wade fishing at the Patrick Bridge CA. I won't have time to float, but want to know: a ) Is this a safe area to camp ? and b ) Is it worthwhile to bring my fishing tackle?
Gavin Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Patrick Bridge can be tweekerville at times. Camp up the road at Sunburst for a couple of bucks and bring your fishing tackle.
Justin Spencer Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Mid week it's a great place to camp usually, not so much on weekends. Good fishing if you hike up to the islands, and decent in the riffle just below the bridge. Chris Gates Posted June 17, 2012 Posted June 17, 2012 If you like to cook meth when you are camping it is a good place to hang. Also, bring your pajama pants. Everytime I float under Patrick or launch there is a pregnant teen in pajamas. I think I saw Teardrop from Winter's Bone last week when I was there.
2sheds Posted June 19, 2012 Author Posted June 19, 2012 Uncle Teardrop is one of my favorite characters. Spooky as all get-out, but honorable to his kin. Thanks for all the input, sounds like a strong consensus that I should plan to visit Justin @ Sunburst.
gotmuddy Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I would highly suggest camping at sunburst. while most of the locals are fine, you get a few people who are good at ruining it for everyone. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Gavin Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Do walk up from Patrick and fish though...after your camp is set, no stuff in your vehicle. The water in front of Justin's place is pretty darn good too. Hit that in the AM or PM. Hope you have a great trip!
Wayne SW/MO Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 I would camp at Sunburst and worry about fishing. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
