I was going to pick up another copy of the paddlers guide and couldnt find one. My dad looked it up on amazon and eBay cheapest one was 85$. It is under ten dollars. Anyone know what's going on with that.

I am not familiar with the "paddlers guide", but here is a neat website that offers info on Missouri's rivers. http://southwestpaddler.com/indexMO.html There is some good info on this site.

I am not affiliated in any way with the site, so take the info as you will. It seems to be thorough.

I am familiar with those websites. I was more curious as to why when you could buy it for around 7 bucks. The cheapest one was eighty five. I did find one for over 300$. I wish I would have bought a truckload at 7$.

I suppose you can use this one in the meantime also.

I gave $6 for the the Paddlers guide. The old Missouri Ozarks Waterway, which was the source of the Paddler was $6.95.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

I cant remember how much but I bought one at Merrimac state park a few months back. It was less than 10 bucks at the visitor center.

The Southwest Paddlers website that Daryk linked is good but considerably more out of date than the other two links, which are basically the same as the Paddler's Guide book (but probably not the newest version that will be coming out). I used the Southwest Paddlers website in trying to find info on accesses to the rivers around Hardy for our trip a couple weeks ago, and it was not too accurate. I checked it just now for Big River, and it still said there was an MDC access at Blackwell--that access has been closed for ten years.

Did you check online at MDC? Our local MDC office had several copies this spring in the gift shop. It was the new spiral bound edition, not the old guide.

Al, Thanks for the update, I have not been able to check out much of the locations on the site, so I guess I will start using the other two. I stumbled on it a while back and it seemed to be pretty thorough, but input like yours helps us all.

I like the maps that the link Wayne put up also, it is nice to have some idea of where you are.
