The TV weather dude is predicting a cool down (upper 80's) and rain for next Monday/Tuesday. I'm sceptical to say the least.

...here in Morrisville area, I'd guess we too have had less than an inch since mid April. When we were at the Arkansas Derby it rained all that weekend here...we missed it. I have quit watering, since we are headed out west to do some fishing in the Sierras and I figured watering was a waste...we had good asparagus early and our broccoli was ok and potatoes fair...my sweet potatoes are looking ok so far...

A strike indicator is just a bobber...

It's funny watching the TV weather people, they keep talking about the rain we're supposed to get next week as if it's a done deal, but on their forecast it's only a 30% chance. 30% seems like a low chance of rain to me.

I got the sunshade on mine this year before they showed any signs of stress and they have really taken off again. I have been getting at least 10 lbs of tomatoes every other day from 18 plants. 2 are grape, 6 roma, and the rest are beefsteak, better boys and celebrity. Cucumbers wish they had some shade, watermelons finally putting on since it turned hot, now if I can keep the deer and coons out of the melon patch I may have a dozen or so. Deer eat the okra as soon as it comes up. I have a pear tree in the backyard that the deer eat on all hours of the day good thing it is loaded this year.

Time to make freezer spagetti sauce out of the romas and salsa out of the rest.

Nothing here rain-wise, though I've got 81 on the trusty thermometer at 8PM.
