This site tests rods, reels, and lines. Read away and learn more than the "popular" knowledge. Based on what I learned, I switched to YoZuri H2O. The line is an inexpensive FC and nylon co-polymer that performs as well or better than the pure FC and ties a much stronger knot. Just my $.02

Jeff, I really don't think you need fluro at all. You're running lead ore and then braid. You lures are going to stay down and that setup will have very little give.

I use fluro to help suspending baits stay down and to give me a little (but significant) extra sensitivity by less stretch under normal load and a straighter line to the lure (less inverted belly from the mono floating up).

IF you want to run fluro anyway, I like Seagar Abraz X and Bekley 100%. Wet you line well prior to cinching knots down and you should be golden.

Ive used Seagar for years and love it. Yozuri is also a good line but side by side i prefered the Seagar. I am assuming you are trolling crank baits and if that is the case pure mono will work just as well at speeds from 1.5 on up but for slow speeds then I would go with the Floro. Everyone is diffrent in which line they use so try several and see which you prefer. I do suggest staying clear of the cheaper lines as you do get what you pay for.

Now if you are wanting to troll plus be able to use the same rod and reel for jigging 12lb floro is my standard size for just about everything, keep an eye on it for abrassions and the knot and you will be a happy camper err fisherman.

You'll get about a thousand different answers, more than likely. I'm with the first answer, I fish Yo-zuri H20 line...

Checkout tackletour.com and you can find a bunch of different line reviews in each category. Just buy high quality line and you'll probably like it.

I've joined mono to braid with a uni to uni and a slim jim knot with VERY good success. I want a weak link when I am fishing braid and I don't want to use up braid when changing lures.

I join mono to fluro or mono to mono using surgeons knots. Adding a drop of glue isn't a bad idea, but I have not found it to be necessary.

A substitute copolymer line aside from Yo-zuri Hybrid that I have used and is super strong is TripleFish Camo Escent. This line is one tough mofo. Dont be fooled by the cheap price and large spools.
