Went out to springfield lake sat night. While i was out i counted 5 jug lines that someone had put out. When i got back to the ramp i was meet by a conservation afent, who was extremly nice and friendly i might add, but she asked if i had seen the jug lines if they were still out or if they were mine, i told her they wernt mine but yes when i came back in they were still out. Thats when she told me that she needed to talk to the people thqt had put them out because the lake was a pole and line fishing only area. No i had seen on the board the pole and line only statement, but had never really thougt much about it, and had been thinking when i saw those jug lines that wouldnt be a bad idea to try. So im actually glad i talked to the agent because now i do know they are not allowed at springfield lake. Of coarse i should have known that with the board stating pole and line only anyway lol. Guess im just starti.g to get a little old

I was out there that night too frogging. I saw the jug lines and I called operation game thief to report them at 9:00PM. The dispatch person asked me if I had a pen and paper to write down the number of the conservation agent. I told her that I was in my boat in the middle of the lake in the dark and I don't have anything to write the number down. I told her that it was her job as "dispatch" to relay the info to the agent. Se just sat there quietly. I hung up in anger. Later that night once I got back to the truck around 11 PM. I called again and got someone else. She passed the info along to the agent who called me around midnight from the parking lot at the boat ramp waiting for the people who had set out the jug lines.

There were only two trailers in the parking lot when I left, so when you left that meant the person who set them out was left. May not be the smartest thing to say "It was me who called the agent" but I have 25 jug lines made up that I would love to set out on the lake, but I don't because it is not allowed. I have an 18 hp outboard that I would LOVE to not have to take off my boat each time I bring it out to the lake, but I do because those are the rules.

It was my first time calling operation game thief and I was impressed with the end result.

Rules, whether you like them or not are for everybody. I don't fish the lake, but is there any notification at the lake that it is an R & R lake?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

The signs that are posted with the size and limits does clearly state lone and pole. When i came it at almot 1 am that left only one trailer there, but i never saw their boat anywhere, i saw you head in zander and two other around that same time, after that i ran down almost to the boat house, so they must have been out on the main lake or up river from the raMp

speaking of rules, I am proposing a new one for Springfield lake. ONLY THE PEOPLE WHO POST ON THIS BOARD ARE ALLOWED TO FISH THE LAKE! :secret-laugh:

I second that!
