Guest Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Beat Alabama and anything is possible. Lose to the Gumps and we might slide down to 8-4 Our schedule is favorable this year as compared to past seasons. Road games at Starkville, Auburn and SC will be tough, no doubt. "Get your Piss Hot" will have em fired up! LOL
stlfisher Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I am really curious to see if they realign the divisions in the upcoming years and who Mizzou's rival game will be against. I kinda hope it is not the Aggies, but that might be logical since it wouldn't disrupt the current rivalry games.
KCRIVERRAT Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I say we ask Phil to start a gambling forum. He can become a Bookie and either rake it in or end up spending some time away from the Landing. I've enjoyed seeing some of your pre-season predictions. Who the heck knows what's gonna happen. And of course I'm kidding about gambling on this site, but how about a weekly thing just for fun for whoever is interested in picking Mizzou games? Of course, no money involved. Only pride. We who bleed Black and Gold might get hammered. But hey... that's why we bleed our school colors. Whad'ya say Phil? Is this pheasable? HUMAN RELATIONS MANAGER @ OZARK FISHING EXPEDITIONS
Feathers and Fins Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Here is the BIG thing. These schools will learn why the SEC is so great. Pride in your team certainly but pride in the SEC for all the schools in it. If your school is not in the BCS most conferance people wont care or watch but in the SEC it doesnt matter who is in it we cheer for the SEC. I think that is one reason so many people want to come to the SEC is the all around pride in it. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
drew03cmc Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Vs Southeastern LA = W VS Georgia = W Vs Arizona St = L VS South Carolina = L VS UCF = W VS Vanderbilt = W VS Alabama = L VS Kentucky = W Vs Florida = L VS Tennessee = W VS Syracuse = W VS Texam A&M = W I think this is a 7-5/8-4 team this year given a favorable schedule, but next year is going to be rough. hoglaw Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Odd you didn't mention the 2008 Cotton Bowl game where Mizzou spanked the pigs. Seems the Tiges even set some all time records in that game. Here is a link. http://scores.espn.g...ameId=280010008 I remember that game...I was there and very hungover. That was the last team Houston Nutt coached. He didn't even coach that game. I don't remember who did. One of the Dick sisters was probably the quarterback that game, though I don't really remember. I've been to two cotton bowls. One was the most boring game I've ever seen (Ark v. OU in 2001 maybe?) and the Mizzou game was one of the most frustrating. It was apparent after the first couple of possessions that the team just wasn't playing and Mizzou was firing on every cylinder. I had the impression they just ran all over us, though I really don't remember all that well. Some very nice Mizzou fans in my section shared their scotch with me most of the morning. I think it's great that Mizzou is in the SEC now, mostly so folks will stop talking about how Arkansas isn't really geographically connected to the SEC (or at least they'll lump is with Mizzou). There are no southerners in Missouri. Folks from Northwest Arkansas aren't really southerners either. Having grown up in Little Rock and spending lots of my time in the Delta, I can tell you that the only thing Northwest Arkansas has in common with the rest of the state is the Razorbacks.

Mizzou gave us the beatdown that day, but I guarantee you that Mizzou wants no part of this Ark team. Paybacks are hell. ASU is over there in NEA jumping up and down pounding their chest about Mahlazahn.. Did you see the police footage on Dyers traffic stop? He passed that Trooper doing 96mph, what a tool. ozark trout fisher Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 @South Carolina and vs. Bama are fairly close to being certain losses, at least in my mind. Georgia could be beatable at home given their ever-present early season suspensions and the crazy atmosphere that should define Mizzou's first SEC game, but that's still got to be chocked up as a likely loss too. I'm guessing we'll also drop @A&M and @Florida. In my mind the Tennessee and Syracuse games will end up deciding their bowl eligibility. The games against Vanderbilt or Arizona State also have the potential to be tricky. But with a decent chance of a big upset over Georgia, and also the strong possibility of minor upsets against Florida and A&M, they could also end up right in the SEC east mix. I don't like the move to the SEC, but this first season should be exciting. My prediction for now will be 7-5 and a low-end bowl. This is a good team with a brutal schedule, both in the SEC and non-conference. I think it will have them fighting and scrapping for bowl eligibility again this season. Who knows what will actually happen, but predictions are fun anyway ( at least until I'm proved wrong!)
ruthead Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Thought I read somewhere that Georgia lifted the suspensions on their players. Maybe I'm wrong?? "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
