Over the years here, I think we have covered just about every subject even remotly related to fishing and some not even close. Some we have covered many, many times and I am sure we will cover them again.

But I would like to what you pack to eat on a days venture? I have a scheduled trip for tomorrow and while I was cutting up a variety of fruits to pack along, I started wondering what everyone else packs for the day.

I have packed everything from fried chicken, a variety of sandwichs and rolls ups to items to grill over a small fire, fruit, beanie wienies. At one time or another, I have probably brought it along.

So what are you packing!!!

Almonds, beef jerky and a peanut butter sandwich if going without a cooler ... add a banana and change the sandwich to turkey and cheese if I take a cooler.

I expected a thread about guns when I originally opened this up.

Venison snack sticks until I run out of them, then Oberle sausage, a locally made summer sausage that's known as "Oberle dog". Often some Oberle cheese, a soft garlicky cheese. Potato chips, raw carrots, and Little Debbies snack cakes, along with a 20 oz. Coke and a 1 liter bottle of sweet tea. That's my usual fare on day floats. For summertime overnighters, I don't want to carry cooking gear, so supper is usually something like KFC extra crispy and potato salad, with some more Little Debbies, maybe Little Debbies powdered sugar donuts.

Picked this idea up from TrophyFishR for non-camping non-shore lunch type trips. My favorite float trip snack is a Walmart rotissery chicken shreaded by hand into a tupperware container. High protein and tasty, even when cold. Other than that, I like to take some mountain trail mix (the one with nuts and M&M's) and a couple of Cliff bars.

Sometimes it's a really nice Italian sandwich (peperoni, salami, lots of onions and spinach) but mostly I like some sliced summer sausage and good cheese with an apple, usually a cripps pink these days, all washed down with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Best thing to ever come in a can. I pack a 20 oz. powerade and lots of water, too.

Beer, Lunchable, Lays Stackers, Water, Ritz Peanut Butter Crackers, and maybe a Mtn. Dew. And a small handgun of high capacity with a few extra rounds.

It depends on the day for me. Usually it's just a couple of ham sandwiches, an orange and lots of water. If I feel like going through the trouble of starting a fire (these days with the drought that means firing up the gas grill instead) then maybe hotdogs instead. My favorite shore lunch, though I don't due this often at all, involves a fryingpan, Andy's breading, and a whole bunch of sunfish and goggle-eye.

For dinner on overnighters, it's usually chili, hotdogs, or both. But a fair amount of the time I'll bring along steak and 'taters. And for breakfast invariably instant oatmeal.

Since there is a QT less than a half mile from my house, I always gas up and get ice there. I usually get a chicken sandwich, chips, fruit and sometimes a cookie or two. Gatorade and water for the drinks. I usually don't drink beer when it's hot, not sure why...my body just tells me water and Gatorade.

PB+J sandwiches, a bag of chips and a cooler with water and gatorade...easy to eat quick so I can get back to fishing...

I usually never eat breakfast or lunch (everyday) and only eat dinner so I don't ever pack anything. If I do pack something it's a bottle of water and peanuts in the back of the vest.

I thought this was a gun thread myself.
